LED displays can be categorized by installation environment, display technology, application, and resolution. Different types of screens are suitable for different application scenarios.

Classification by Installation Environment:

Indoor LED Displays: Suitable for enclosed spaces such as conference rooms, shopping malls, and hospitals. Moderate brightness (typically 300–1000 cd/m²), small pixel pitch (e.g., P1.2 to P3), fine display, and support for high-definition video playback.

Outdoor LED Displays: Features high brightness (≥5000 cd/m²), waterproof and dustproof (IP65 protection rating), suitable for use in strong light environments such as squares and building facades, ensuring daytime visibility.

Classification by Display Technology:

SMD LED Screens: Utilizes surface mount technology, encapsulating red, green, and blue LED chips on a small bracket. Uniform color and good stability, widely used in mid-to-high-end indoor displays. COB (Chip-on-Board) Packaged Screens: Multiple LED chips are directly integrated onto a PCB board, offering excellent heat dissipation, long lifespan, and strong protection. Suitable for applications requiring high stability, such as command centers or high-end commercial spaces.

Mini/Micro LED Screens: Belonging to micro-pitch display technology, pixel pitch can be as low as P0.7 or less, achieving ultra-high resolution and seamless splicing. This is currently the mainstream development direction in the mid-to-high-end color TV and professional display markets.
